Suggested Safety Plan for Victims of Domestic Violence

  • Always keep some money hidden

  • Have extra keys for the car and house

  • Have important documents and items readily available

    • Bank Accounts
    • Insurance Policies
    • Marriage License
    • Driver's Licence
    • Birth Certificates (Yours and children's)
    • Social Security Numbers (His, yours, children's)
    • Valuable Jewelry
  • Have a small bag with extra clothing, such as an overnight or gym bag.

  • Have items hidden in one central place, such as a garage or closet. Figure out what his pattern of behavior is during the violent stage and determine where would be best to keep the bag, should you need to leave quickly.

Above All, DO NOT Hesitate to call Police!

Notify a neighbor to be alert to strange noises and call police. Get rid of weapons in the house, especially if he becomes violent.
