Emergency Services Bureau

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Reserves consists of P.O.S.T. certified volunteers. Duties include assisting the Sheriff's Office with special events, extra manpower for Patrol, special security assignments, transit system patrol, and any other duties needed by the agency.

Reserve Deputies are required to work 10 hours per month and obtain 40 hours of law enforcement training annually to maintain their certification. All assignments are volunteer time. Reserve Deputies's are trained by full-time officers and are allowed to perform all law enforcement duties while under the supervision of the full-time officer.

Reserve Deputies are required to be certified by Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) prior to being appointed to the Reserve Corps as an officer. The Department provides uniforms, radios, traffic vest, coats, and other clothing items. The volunteers are required to provide their own leather gear, firearms, footwear, and hardware.

Many of our Reserve Deputies are citizens that work full-time in the private sector and participate as a volunteer at the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office to enhance the quality of life in the community.

If you are interested in becoming a Reserve Deputy please contact Emergency Services Bureau at 719.583.6200.
