Communications
The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Emergency Communications Center provides 911 service to the citizens of Pueblo County. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, 14 dedicated and professional communications officers perform duties including but not limited to;
9-1-1 Emergency call taking
Adminstrative call taking
Dispatch of appropriate law enforcement, fire and ems response in all of Pueblo County (excluding the city limits)
Over 22,000 calls for service each year amongst 10 agencies
Continued training and certification in Emergency Medical Dispatch Protocol, allowing citizens to receive 3rd hand life saving treatment prior to arrival of first responders
Tracking of all controlled burns in Pueblo County
Dispatch of Colorado State University - Pueblo Police

Detailed record keeping of response and call information
Daily warrants maintenance
Review of wants information for deputies making citizen contact
Constant review and education regarding Pueblo Depot Activity events
Entry of any lost, missing or taken individuals or items inside Pueblo County
Jurisdictional response knowledge both inside and outside Pueblo County
Within the past few years this crew has handled various types of calls including, plane crashes, shootings, traffic accidents, domestic abuse, childbirth, choking, thefts, and suicides all with an unsurpassed professionalism and dedication to duty. To be a member of this team requires not only that professionalism and dedication, but also enormous courtesy and patience, compassion towards others, strong communication skills, intelligence, multitasking ability, and common sense. Through out the years this group of individuals has received the Sheriff's Commendation, multiple Unit Meritorious Awards and individual awards from both the Sheriff's Office and the Board of County Commissioners.
